About the event

This hike is a steady three and a half mile climb that eases up towards the summit and finishes with some amazing views. Not overly technically challenging, this is still a moderately tough hike that is suited for intermediate to experienced hikers.

We will convene at the trailhead at 7:50am for introductions and begin our hike at 8:00am. King Canyon trailhead is fairly large, there is also free parking across the street at the Desert Museum if necessary.

Please bring lots of water and sunscreen, hiking poles will be very useful with incline stretches on the way up and all the way down. The weather forecast right now calls for 55 degrees at the start and 77 degrees by the time we finish, beautiful hiking weather that’s getting on the warm side.

Given the climb of this trail, please make sure you are prepared for this hike, physically and provision-wise.
